USB in front of X-STAR

Not sure on that, it is used for a data port for transferring flight info. Like a black box on a plane.

Like Agustine says, it is a data port for factory/repair use.
I would be willing to bet that you will see some sort of collision avoidance in future models.

Ya I believe you can retrieve the flight date and do firmware updates ...this is also where you should be able to hack it and perhaps add a collision detection add on to it?
