All,

Autel has posted several new firmware modules for the Evo Lite+, accompanied by a new app version (1.4.100). The latter hasn't materialized in Google Play, though, so I downloaded the .apk file from Autels official support web site. The download works, but I have not been able to install the app on two different mobiles (one with Android 12, the other one with Android 14). The error message just says that something went wrong, so the apk couldn't be installed. Autel support performed as usual, i.e. I have not received an answer from them regarding the installation error or as to when the app will be available in Google Play.

I'd like to install the new firmware, because the release notes say that Remote ID functionality was enhanced. As this is basically a requirement to fly at all in the area where I live, I'd like to check whether they finally implemented that. After all, that was announced for sometime in spring 2023.

Please let me know in case you were able to install the .apk, because I would be interested in how you did it - maybe there is some hidden twist to install the .apk that I don't know of. Thanks!

I've tried to do the OTA upgrade and the Autel Sky refuses to recognize that new firmware is available. In the 'About' page there are several showing in red so it knows those are outdated, but just doesn't prompt to install. I tried re-installing the app (version 1.4.68) on my Android and that didn't work. Not so sure I want to risk it anyway given what pilots are saying about past firmware issues, but I would like to have the Remote ID working. As you've indicated, probably needs v1.4.100 to work with FW V2.0.15

I also have app version 1.4.68 installed and see the new firmware modules listed in red, but, as with your setup, the new firmware won't be installed with the old app version. So I guess we'll have to wait...

Looking at timestamps for the iOS and Android Sky apps, they both are Sept 7, 2023, which is the same timestamp for aircraft firmware 1.9.9. I'm concerned that if I use the 1.4.100 on my Android (which I just successfully side-installed APK) and upgrade the aircraft FW to V2.0.15, then will I be able to use my iPad Mini (running 1.6.8 Sept 7, 2023)? I don't want that scenario as the tablet is my preferred setup.

Just to confirm, installed the 1.4.100 Sky app on the android, synced with aircraft and was prompted for firmware upgrade. I did not proceed as I have concerns with being able to use my iOS Mini tablet for RC work and not sure it will be compatible post FW upgrade.
On another interesting note, when comparing the Sky app features I noticed under the Safety settings
you can now shut down your props in flight!! Maybe that was always possible using the RC sticks, but honestly never tried that for obvious reasons;)

Yes, this is a standard function for drones (DJI, Autel, etc.), Autel had it from the very beginning, but it was not described in the instructions. You can also start the motors by bringing the sticks together or spreading them apart.

Joewi, new firmware for the EVO II Dual (640T/640R) also landed July 11 and see this post

Looks like the RemoteID is no better there which very possibly means that we won't be seeing any difference with the Lite + either.
Speaking of RemoteID, you may be interested in another post from Chris

1.14.100 available here (open link from smartphone, then download and install apk), this version will update the firmware, but I already mentioned problems with geofencing.
By chance, do you have a link to the new iOS app? Autel has a new 1.7.25 Sky app for the July 11, 2024 FW, but the link they sent me doesn't work. Each time I try to install , it errors with something about lacks integrity, etc.

Here's what Autel sent me :
Here are the download links for the Android and iOS app installation packages:

Android: Android - Google Drive

iOS: IOS - Google Drive

I was also unable to install 1.4.100 while 1.4.68 was installed. As soon as I uninstalled 68, 100 installed just fine.

I've only had the new version up for a couple of minutes, but I noticed that my gimble-sway seems to be fixed. Mine would sway on the X axis pretty noticeably even when just sitting still on a table. Seems solid now. Only a hyperlapse will really confirm if it's fixed or not. I'll try to do one tomorrow.

Also, am I insane, or was LOG only available in Auto mode before? Well, if it was, LOG now works in Pro mode. HDR is still locked to Auto mode only though.

Where can I found firmware v1. 9. 9 to reinstall because the new v2. 0.15 don't work properly

I'm new to this forum and Autel drones so I can't answer your question directly, but would like to know what problems are you having? I'm sure others would be eager to get feedback on the new firmware as well...Thanks

I just can fly my Lite + with Autel Sky Android v1.4.100 and a new firmware v2.0.15. All the things were good and no problems during the flight trying all the modes and stuff but....... It's impossible to connect my tablet or iPhone Apple with v1.7.25 unless this version is compatible. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
Autel Sky v1.7.25 runs well on my Apple devices but does not pair with a drone.
Any idea?

Interesting for sure,..and personally find concerning because it relates exactly to how I operate my drone. Thanks very much for taking the time to update this forum. I use a iPad Mini (v4) for RC work. I haven't been able to install the latest 1.7.25 iOS Sky app because the links I have from Autel support don't work. Sounds like you've been more successful to get the Sky app installed, but now finding the pairing problem. Did you open a ticket with Autel Support?

Also, where did you get 1.7.25 for the iOS to install? The links for it (from Autel Support to me - not publicly available) point to an IPA file that you have to side load into the iOS and my attempts have all failed with 'integrity' errors, etc.

I open a ticket to Autel support today.
A guy from this forum get me the file. You need a program to install it, there are a YouTube video about it without a jailbreak. It's a bit difficult but not impossible. Running well in iPad but not paired

Hi

Just did the update, old app need to be deleted then install apk, from there took around 20 minutes for the firmware update. Did not fly the lite + and new firmware yet

It's Autel this drone sucks and Autel drones always seem to have massive connectivity issues I had them with this drone....the Enterprise EVO 6K and standard 6K. Not sure why they don't seriously look into this it's obvious they don't care about consumer drones or their customers flying them.
