How is the obstacle avoidance supposed to behave on a return to home for the Evo 1? If say an object or structure is encountered while returning to home is the drone supposed to fly around or just stop?

Make sure your RTH altitude is set way higher than any structures in the area you will be flying. Mine came preset at 197 ft.

It depends on the obstacle. If it's a tree or something similar, it will fly around it. If it's something like a building, it will stop.
