Does the black tape on some XSP's arms signify anything?

I recently acquired an X-Star Premium and it has a square of black tape on all four arms which looks to be factory installed. In looking around, I see that some others have that same black tape too. Does it mean anything? What was it for? It's been bugging me!

Its essentially a thermal protector for the inner wires because they are like radars and magnetic and electrical interference can be bad for it so its like electrical tape
