I inspect my hinge pins regularly since people have had problems in the past... This last time I didn't even need to look close, my hinge was completely broken, in the case with the pin sheared in two. I use a GPC Rugged case, direct from Autel. Upon inspection I have found that when closed, the lifting straps for the tray lay directly across the antennas. And it is my belief that they put stress on the antennas when stored. Enough that I can see micro fractures emanating out from the hing pin's holes on both sides of both antennas... EXCEPT the one that broke. It is free of those fractures, I'm guessing that it broke before they could progress further. Anyway... Here are a few photos showing my problem... And I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue...Or has it now that they know what to look for.
