Am I understanding this correctly? A relatively expensive drone, with a USBC port located a few millimeters
away from an SD card, and the USB port is... useless? It worked to update the firmware, so file transfer is there, but not as a general purpose file transfer device?

I don't understand "videos are stored in the cloud", either. Doesn't that require uploading the video? Why? When? Where?
Is the only way to get the videos from the drone to use an SD card reader or WiFi? And all the pieces need to be connected, the controller to the phone and the drone powered on,
as though you could take off at any moment, just so you can slowly download the video over wifi?

This seems insane to me, and leads me to believe I'm just missing something. I'm generally pretty tech savvy, but here I am 😂.

Thanks for responding with any help for this noob!

Oh I totally agree, some other drones can transfer files with everything turned off. For now, just remove the sdcard and do your Transfers.

It's pretty simple really. That USB CV port is not for data. They don't even recommend you charge the battery using it. First, you can easily pull the card and read it. And that is faster than the wifi. Nor does reading the card outside of the drone require anything to be turned on except the computer you are reading it on. And when you use the card reader you can also download the log files. It only requires one more step than using the USB c port directly. That is taking the card out and inserting it into an adapter. At that point there is no real difference between reading the card and direct data transmission. You have to physically take the card out. That is the only "extra" step required. PS: your comment reads far more like a complaint/criticism than an actual request for help, especially if you say you are "tech savvy".
