A $26,000 DJI Matrice 210 was lost to the ocean during a training exercise when the DJI drone ran out of battery power nearly a mile offshore in high winds.

I live about 20 miles from this spot and it's odd that I learn about this here as there was nothing on our local news about it.

Geeeeez, but WTH were they doing flying so far off-shore in such high winds with only a 14min battery capacity??
If they need to fly in those conditions, they need more time, like an EVO 2 with 25-30min. But, I guess right now the DJI is their best thermal option, but not for long...

Yes, 14 minutes is not very long for an operation like this. I suppose the payload and high winds account for the low battery life.
