Finally got a couple of new batteries for my Evo 1. Don’t know how long they may have been on the shelf and not sure how long they will remain good without being charged and used. Any suggestions?

Without being charged and used.
Let's say a few weeks to a month or two.
These batteries are kept in storage between 50 and 60% charge. Below, they can quickly lose their load value and quickly find themselves in the waste bin.
I recommend using them two or three times to verify that they take their total charge well without any voltage difference between the elements and then to switch them to storage mode. (With voltage check at least every 15 days.

Thanks. Will try that.
