Hey Everyone,

Wanted to share a successful flight at -11 degrees F in North Dakota.

Some context:

Flying Telecommunication tower light inspections, up to about 400’ AGL, flying for about 10 minutes.

Kept the drone in the hotel with me overnight so the batteries were warm, also charging the batteries the night prior to ensure a good voltage level.

Flight went perfectly, no issues.

Attached is a snapshot of the weather report at the time of flight.

Yeah I agree keeping the battery warm pre-flight is key...
I saw a video recently where a crazy russian (his channel name) did a range test in almost -40 conditions.

I agree as well, ambient temps don't matter, battery temps are everything. As soon as the battery starts discharging it will maintain its own heat, but starting with a frozen battery is asking for a lost drone.
