DIY FPV Ground Station >$500

A local pilot and I have been planning this for a while and I decided to be the guinea pig and put together one from our final build list of components. I can also run this from my Crystal Sky with my M2Z and with my Anafi using the HDMI out of my K1 Shield.

I will be doing a post build full test run tomorrow morning at the gun club.

1' Hdmi and monitor power cables

As I am using this primarily with my Autel Evo II Pro, I have also incorporated the Live Deck, which has a internal battery good for over 4hrs. Pictured is my live deck with a mini (2500Mah) power bank which adds 2 more hours live video feed capability.

With all respect, a monitor like that is useless outside/in the field. You need at least 1000cd on the observer monitor. I am in the final stages of building a professional version of a complete ground station in a rugged case for the EVO 2 . If somebody is interested, just let me know

To each his own.

Your needs are not my needs and my configuration works perfect for my needs. I could have used a high nit monitor, but the costs go up exponentially with brightness not to mention power usage. There is a cost/benefit decision made on all these projects.

In my primary configuration my ground station is untethered from my flight operation area and gets its feed from the Live Deck and its location to me (within reason, typically 1 mile max) is irrelevant. My observers/clients have no need to be out in direct sunlight and are under some type of cover (canopy, SUV/Van, Command post trailer/tent or a building. I just used my Live Deck so a IDPA pistol match was viewed from the range club house .5 miles away from the event and the Live Deck was in the building.
