Hi,
I just bought the 4Hawks SR antenna but I don't see any improvement in range.
I still get about the same range as the normal antennas.
The signal bars shown at the top of the Explorer app start to go down only after around 2km or 1.2miles.
I keep getting a message "video signal is weak at around 2km.

I'm using 10mhz and Normal in the "Image Transmission" menu.
I use Airplane Mode on my phone with Location set to on.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

I'll wait till Monday and see that they say.
They are directional antennas, try setting your video to smooth and see if that helps. If you are 1 mile out and it starts giving you weak signals, try adjusting your antenna and make sure your pointing your dish\antenna at the drone.

I tried flying with the setting video set to smooth, but I'm still getting the message "video signal is weak".

With the 5mhz bandwidth set to smooth you will get the notifications however the feed should stay good for a good distance.

You can also when in flight mode on your phone, just tape the top of the screen and you will get your reception strength bars displayed.

Hi Madhungarian,
I tried using the 5MHz and Smooth but after 2km the bars on the top of the Autel Explorer app shows 2 or 3 bars only.
I was pointing the controller directly at the drone.

I opened the controller and the antenna cables seem to be connected fine.
But when reattaching the ribbon connectors I was really struggling to reattach them and might have damaged them (shown in the photos attached).
The first time installing the antennas everything went so smoothly.

I am so upset about the ribbon connectors!
I might need a new controller. ?

It looks in photo #9 you have fried the ribbon cable. Are you in the US? I have a spare controller.

It looks to me that its just the foam covering on the ribbon cable .

The Autel Evo was present from my sister in America.
I live in South Africa and I have Hydrocephalus and I'm not able to work.
My brother is the only one with an income.

I don't know what to do now.
I can't afford to pay R15000.00 (Rand) to buy a new one.

Please help.

Like Hazz says. The controller looks fine. It's the foam on top of the ribbon that is damaged. It won't affect controller operation. You should see mine on the inside. Looks like a tornado went through it and still works as intended.
