Unable to Pair Up Aircraft and Remote Controller due to incompatible firmware versions

My drone had firmware version 1.9.8. I decided to roll back the firmware because after the update my drone stopped taking off. No matter which method I used(autostart, or controller) the propellers would launch for a second or two, then shut down without any error message. I've read on the forum that recalibration of the compass and firmaware rollback may help. Since recalibration didn't help, I rollback firmware to version 1.8.2. Unfortunatly I did this with the controller disconnected and as the result the controller software didn't update. As the result I can't pair my simple controller with the aircraft anymore.

I have the following questions:
1. Can I upgrade(rollback) Simple Remote Control firmware without connected aircraft?
2. Does anyone have a 1.9.8 firmware so I can update the drone and re-pair it with the controller?

All best!

Fun fact: V1.9.8 Release Notes just disappeared from the page. Yesterday it was there.

Because before I rollbacked the 1.9.8 firmware to bthe 1.8.5 with the controller turned off, I belive this made the firmware versions no longer match. According to the firmware table(Autel Robotics Product Firmware Version Sharing Table - Updated on 20240805) my controller has Transmit-RC V1.0.7.28, and my Aircraft has Transmit-RC V1.0.7.3.

I believe that to solve the problem I should:
1. upgrade the firmware version of the aircraft body by SD card to 1.9.8 to make them belong to the same firmware version;
2. then to make the aircraft compatible with the IOS app I should downgrade the firmware with the controller enabled so it will make the firmware install on both the aircraft body and the remote control

But how can I do that without 1.9.8 firmware image? I wrote to support but they want me to send the drone...

Just wanted to chime in... after I installed v1.8.5, my controller and the drone fail to pair. So if anyone has a link to v1.9.8 it would be appreciated

I have the latest version of firmware FW V1.9.10 and the remote does not connect to the nano either.

I also have this issue. Got Nano+ yesterday, updated to 1.8.5 just fine and all was well save for the prompts to update to 1.9.10 which consistently failed to install through the app.

Got 1.9.10 from Autel this morning, tried to update via SD card and now I can't pair the drone to the controller, I just get aircraft disconnected...

Sadly the release notes say 1.9.10 can't be rolledback from

So I think I updated to 1.9.10 and now it "seems" to connect, but the RC signal strength goes from full to disconnected in what appears to be random way. It will disconnect within a minute every time- how soon seems random. It "seems" to connect in that I receive camera input and can move the gimbal, and it gives the ready to fly green prompt. But it will not launch and I have yet to see the sky app identify what firmware it is running (it gives N/A firmware). Anyone with similar experience?

I'm running iPhone 8 and am 10 miles from an municipal airport

Hello,

I have the same issue with my drone—it no longer connects to the RC after the update via the SD card. I am also unable to roll back the update.

Has a solution been found yet?

ards,

Hey,

I'm in the UK. I emailed Autel support and they put me in touch with Electronic Partners (EP) who are the official Autel repair specialists here in the UK. I spoke to EP on the phone and sent them my drone just before Christmas, like the 19th of December or something.

After xmas EP told me the drone needed its board replaced which all in is about £350. Okay... pricey, but needs must I guess... annoyingly though the UK government sanctioned Autel around this time which means that replacement parts like new boards are blacklisted and can't enter the UK.... the repair would be dependent on a replacement board having been in the UK market prior to the sanction (I agree with the sanction in principle, it's just annoying it's impacted the drone repair in this way)

I've been waiting ever since, but I'm gonna cancel the repair as there's been no update from EP and there's no point in waiting forever

Lesson learned imo. I've flown Parrot, DJI and Autel drones and Autel's software and quality assurance is by far the worst I've seen (this disassociation of the RC and UAV shouldn't be able to happen!)

Hey,

I completely agree with you—this kind of disconnection between the drone and the remote controller should never happen in the first place. And if it does, there should be an update to fix it. Or at least a way to make it right again. Or to be able to make it right… or whatever. You get what I mean.

Also, £350 for a motherboard replacement? That’s absolutely insane. That’s not just expensive, that’s straight-up robbery. I really hope my drone doesn’t have the same issue, because it does connect… but only occasionally. And all of this started right after the update. So yeah, it’s definitely the damn update causing these problems.

Let me know when you get your drone back and how it all turns out. Were you able to reconnect it? Also, did you crash your drone before this happened, or did anything specific cause the issue?

Cheers!

-If you bind the aircraft to the controller, where it goes wrong ?
-What are the fw versions currently on the controller ?
Nothing happens at all when I try to connect my drone. And if it does connect, which is about once in a thousand attempts, it only shows the software data.

So I have 7 launches out of 121 attempts using using firmware 1.9.10 and Sky v1.4.113 for android and using Samsung A15... and still have frequent seemingly random disconnects (while flying or stationary)... and auto launch will not work. This is a new drone, so I can't comment on if this is due to the firmware update or not. There have been 24 emails between me and the Autel Robotics Service department since January and I have yet to have a consistent connection. I have requested a refund... but have yet to hear any response (and honestly don't expect to get my money back)
