I ordered a replacement controller for my EVO II Pro V1 drone. The controller is the EVO II Remote Controller V2.

I've tried multiple times to pair them, but the controller goes from 'Matching' to 'Connecting', but never connects.

Firmware is up to date on my EVO II V1 drone. Not sure about the new controller's firmware since I can't connect it.

Anyone know if you can or cannot connect a V2 remote to a V1 drone (and what's the trick to do it)?

Thanks

The V2 controller is not backward compatible with the V1 drone.

Yes, thank you. I found that out after contacting Autel. Searched everywhere to see if it was compatible but couldn't find anything so I bought it hoping it would work. Returning it and looking for a used V1 controller.

I have an Evo II, 1st gen so when it became apparent that the hard/firm/software changes would preclude compatibility between them, I quickly shopped online to grab what I could while they were still in stock or liquidated (Smart Controller, Livedeck etc)

I may not have the latest model but doggone, it sure has been working fine for my recreational needs.

Yep, Getting a V1 controller in the secondhand market is the way to go.

Since you have the V1, I'm hoping the buttons on the back of the controller are orange. If they are, I really really need some help!
So I picked this thing up couple weeks ago from somebody it was still in the packaging. Never even been flown. However, we couldn't get the controller to pair with the machine. I've tried pairing it. I've tried pairing it, the home power and a button way and I cannot get anything to work. Somebody from Auto apparently sent me the firmware to download. However, I don't even know what he sent me because it was not any firmware. I believe the firmware is supposed to be on a bin file. This was on a web page so I have not been able to update any of the firmware and don't know which firmware to correctly download up until about 3 weeks ago. I didn't even know this company existed. I think they have some pretty good quality drones + I am looking at getting the Enterprise thermal however, I would like to figure this problem out first. So if you're able to help me. I would greatly so much appreciate it
