My X-Star Premium made a super fast landing.... crash.

I am selling everything but the bird. One of the batteries is almost brand new (2017 Christmas Present).

- Case
- Charger
- Controller
- Gimbal parts
- Prop wrench
- Older battery, holds full charge

Thank you!

Not sure if it was a battery or bird failure. I flew a “way point” mission. Upon completion I had 57% battery, bird rose to 300 ft. which was my programmed return to home altitude.

Immediately upon reaching 300 ft., battery dropped from 57% to 9% (no numerical drop, 57% to 9%). Bird immediately went into auto emergency land. Battery was dropping fast and went completely dead at 52 ft. (AGL). Bird fell dead from 52 feet... lights out... no more X-Star.

Just to answer the obvious question, there was no obstructions from 0-300 feet.

Sounds like a battery failure. Have you talked (on the phone) to Autel about it. They very possibly might take care of things for you.

I've seen on the forums people have the same issue after the final firmware release. When did you last charge the battery before flight? A few found that recharging the battery/batteries the same day or day before any flights fixed it for them. It's not something new. Definately contact Autel. They might be able to do something for you. Hopefully still under warranty.

I'm curious about the condition of the bird itself. I bought a crashed XSP, and was able to get her flying again. Most of the damage was to the gimbal and the frame, so there were no broken circuit boards. To repair the case, I removed the brass threaded inserts that had been ripped out, and filled in those areas using a 3D pen with ABS filament. I then re-drilled insertion holes, and pushed the inserts back into place using a warm soldering iron.

The gimbal and camera were mostly intact, some bent metal, but the main ribbon cable was sliced in two, and the second motor is seized up. So this bird is blind at the moment.
