At this point, yes, I think that the hardware supports it (with firmware edits) and the fact that Autel would choose not to is a mistake. The Evo2 is still the current craft and they have just been changing chipsets for one reason or another. But the craft is the same. They will further damage customer loyalty with this descision, IMO.
If someone does not want to comply, they could simply not update the firmware after it is included.
