Hi,
Hope you are all well :)

I have recently upgraded to the DJI M4T. Unsure why during the mapping flight the drone just drifts away from the path set, going diagonally way off track crossing over the map outline. After a while it will realign. The drone is connected to over 32 satellite points. I haven't had this with the M350T M30T or M3T and it has happened on a number of occasions. Weather is really good low winds clear visibility and good connection.
Any idea??

You will have better luck in the dedicated Matrice forum.

Here is my guess.

Does this happen when you are on a mapping mission with nadir images only?
If so, this is the altitude optimization. You can check this by opening the mission and seeing if Altitude optimization is turned on.

Altitude Optimization is when flying a nadir images only mission, at the end of the mission the drone will fly from an outside corner towards the center of the map and take oblique images.

These oblique images are needed by the photogrammetry software to help create a better camera calibration. Without these oblique images there will most likely be a vertical shift of your data.
When you obtain all oblique images or a mix ob nadir and oblique images, you do not need the Altitude Optimization.

There are also other ways to obtain your images to stop this vertical shift, but DJI does not have these image acquisition strategies in their software since Altitude Optimization works well.

Thanks I'll check on the settings for the retake, this happens during the mission at around 30% completion on the most recent one. It isn't the end of mission oblique shots. Will get a screen shot from the history flights when next in the air.

Is it during a 5 pattern mission where the first mission is nadir and the next 4 are oblique missions to get all sides?
If so, then it is the Altitude Optimization running for the first, nadir images mission possibly.

It could also be where your flight outline is not perfectly square and the flight lines do not run from end to end. It's hard to see on a small screen, but sometimes it will grab partial flight lines at weird times by crossing the map insteead of grabbing them when closer.
