Good morning .
Today a part of French medieval History.
The castle of Crussol is a medieval fortress of the early twelfth century, located in the town of Saint-Péray, in the department of Ardèche region Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes.
Now in ruins, the castle Crussol was built on a hill overlooking the valley of the Rhone, facing the city of Valence (Drôme).
Located on the crest of the mountain of Crussol, on the edge of a plateau plateau of more than 200 meters high, the castle dominates the towns of Saint-Péray in the west, Guilherand-Granges and Valencia in the east.
It extends over three hectares and includes the Village, a group of about 140 houses, and the castle itself at the top of the hill, all surrounded by walls still visible, especially on the back where there is a tower.
This fortress, standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Rhone plain, controlled a communication route very popular since ancient times.
