Bad time to get on the Evo 1 bandwagon?

Six months ago Autel announced end-of-life for this original Evo as of this month of December. Seems unlikely to be any further consideration of bug fixes for the Evo in future Autel Explorer app releases. If you want to fly it with a smartphone or tablet, I'd recommend you first find the latest stable version of firmware and the app, download them as a .bin and .apk for safekeeping and not only stick with these, but also dedicate a smart device to the task that doesn't get updated (which isn't such a good plan for a primary device).
I mention this because the latest several releases of the Autel Explorer app have broken the Standard Controller's right scroll wheel function for navigating camera menus, on my Autel Evo II Pro

I just looked up and they have a refurbished one for $650
Maybe its a good idea to buy it and part it out for a profit
Id like to know the number of times the batteries have been charged
