Hi all,
I am looking to buy a good drone primarily for good aerial landscape photography. When anyone mentions aerial photography, naturally, DJI comes to mind. They have like a 90% market share, but the problem with DJI is, the lack of competition for them does not spur them to be better. Now I only see one viable competitor to DJI, which is Autel.
And when I look at the FEW Autel RAW/DNG images online, I am taken aback by how sharp they are, especially for the Evo Nano+. This points to a good camera lens. I compare with DJI, and I must admit Autel drones make sharper images. Although the color is lacking and dull, but maybe they have improved with time, because the only RAW samples I can find online are those posted by DP Review and they are dating back to 2020 and 2021.
I want to believe Autel have improved since then.....and the drone's mechanical abilities matter less to me compared to the imaging capability.
About DJI, there are so many complaints about the bad quality of their Mavic drone images, mainly to do with their QC, and people have to keep on returning those drones until they get an acceptable copy. I think most consumers are not into photography aspect, so they wouldn't really care, but I am someone that cares about IQ a lot, and it is unacceptable to me that DJI continues to sell low quality drones at such a high price.
I hope some of you can post some RAW/DNG samples of the latest Autel drones that you have, so that I could assess them, as it is really odd that Autel has NONE and even the company does not capitalize on the blunders of their rival DJI to post RAW samples for people to see for themselves. This is something Autel can certainly beat DJI in this aspect, but why aren't they taking notes? LOL
Thanks in advance.
