X-Star tethered power?

Am looking for SOME way to get some use from my Xstar. Will continue to monitor rebuilds. Has anyone discussed tethered power to the Xstar? This outfit V-LINE Actively Tethered Drone Systems | Mavic 2 - EVO 2 — Volarious apparently supplies a $$ kit for the EVO. Has anyone come up with a DIY solution? Thanks!

Pretty interesting idea. But a 100 foot cable?

I watched the videos and looked at the pictures, which was all I could do without registering for an account. The two concerns, other than the inherent limitations of a tether, are:

1. It looks like the V-LINE mounts on the existing battery, basically trickle-charging it. The Mavic video shows the UAS being started from the battery before the V-LINE is powered on. So I doubt it would work with a dead battery.
2. The V-LINE system runs on its own batteries, which also appear to be proprietary. So what happens if they withdraw them the next time they "upgrade" their system? Unless the V-LINE accepts some other power source (car battery or AC line voltage), you're out of luck... again.
