I had the same problem, used phones hotspot to get the update. It still doesn't work on my house wifi .

Maybe it only sees 2.4GHz. I really haven't taken notice. Is your router putting out 2.4GHz?

It sounds like you have a simple issue of your home router's firewall is blocking your internet connection. That's why you are connected to the local router but not allowed internet connection. Most times it can be resolved by going into your router's settings in the security tab and turn off the firewall. Then connect to internet with the controller. Once connected, then turn the router's firewall back on. The controller shouldn't have anymore connection issues after that. If that doesn't work the easy way, the next method is to go back into your router's settings and add the controller's MAC address into it's exceptions or trusted devices. If you don't know how, it's best to contact your router's customer support. I hope this helps.
