New regulations are coming on April 16 covering night flight and flight over people (followed by Remote ID). Some questions arise:

Does the EVO II 6K with prop guards fit into Category 2 or 3?
Does Autel plan to issue an airworthiness certificate for EVO II and will it be retroactive to exisitng units?
What is the Autel plan for existing EVO drones remote ID implimentation? Will it be add on or software/firmware implimentation?

Thanks Pete

The new regulations go into effect 3/16/21. All good questions, there are still a lot of unknowns particular with RID as the standards are still being worked out. The vendors have until September 2022 to come into compliance with new aircraft, as well as how to address existing. Operators will have until September 2023 (e.g. almost 2 and half years from now). Regarding OOP cat 2 and cat 3, TBD. With the current EVO II prop guards, they are not cages and do not enclose the props, like for example the cage for the Mavic Mini. The E2P prop guards are good for protecting against bumping into things, however they do not protect from things above or below, likewise, do not protect things that are above or below. Lets see how this all plays out.
