New Gimbal Control Algorithm

I just got around to downloading the new firmware and one of the “improvements” listed was a new gimbal control algorithm. I haven’t had time to fly, but can anyone explain what has changed? One of my complaints about my EVO has been that the yaw and gimbal movements cannot be deadened as much as I’d like to get cinematic footage. Do the changes help? Thanks

No, the changes don't help with that. We don't have any new control over the gimbal. My guess is that they changed the algorithm to support boat mode. Although for some of us the horizon seems more stable and level now, there is some camera jitter before takeoff in boat mode. In addition, when not in boat mode, landing with the gimbal facing downward forces a gimbal restart after landing. Again, only some of us are experiencing those issues. For the most part the upgrade seems stable.
