What brands of 'memory' cards are recommended for the Evo ll pro

I understand up to 256 gb can be used .... BUT what size is recommended ??

As you can see by my questions I know nuthin about memory cards ( but there was a day you knew nuthin too - so be kind )

I saw Toshiba won a test as to fast writing and they were <$12
They were (copied from above post) UHS-3 rated
That is a 3 inside big 'U' I think....

I use nothing but SanDisk for all of my cameras regardless of what form factor the memory card is (SD, CF, MicroSD, etc.), and I've never had an issue. The reason being; there is a lot of debate on how many actual memory card manufacturers there are. One belief is there's really only two (Lexar and SanDisk). Lexar got bought out some years ago and supposedly now has some quality issues. The common consensus amongst people that keep up with these types of things (I don't) seemed to be that everything on the market is Lexar or rebranded Lexar (I.e. Samsung, Toshiba, etc.), except SanDisk.

All I know is across all of my cameras I use SanDisk's Extreme storage exclusively and have never had an issue. Here is the exact memory cards that I have in all of my drones:

Lots of people are using the Samsung Evo SD cards with great success and longevity too. Price is good as well.

I ask because I read a 'test report' about the actual speed of writing of various cards and TOSHIBA was the undisputed fastest card to be written to.
Now I will have to find the test report to back up the information

The short answer to why use a 128 vs 256 is it's better to swap out cards rather than rely on one card to not fail or heaven forbid; the drone is lost. at least you will have the previous flight(s) recorded.

Ultimately it's your decision. There isn't a wrong answer; only preference.

I just don't need that much storage. I've never even filled up a 32GB card in all of my years of filming. The only reason I have 128GB cards vs something smaller is because they were on sale on Amazon one year on Black Friday for $5.00. The EVO II 6K came with a 32GB memory card.....I have yet to even bother putting in a larger card.

I personally fly the drone for very specific reasons within a project and I typically need only a few seconds of drone video footage or 10-20 drone images for real estate clients. Clients don't hire me to shoot "drone videos", they hire me to shoot their project and for portions of their project a drone is the best tool to use to tell that part of the story. In 7yrs of flying I've never even filled up 32GB. Now if you treat it like another storage device and don't clear it after the day's flying is over then sure it will fill up.

Another thing that I keep in mind is that I don't just have the EVO II, I also have the P4, the DJI Mini 2, and other cameras. Most of my other cameras have 128GB limits for the memory cards. For me its easiest to buy cards that work in all of my cameras vs. just focusing on getting the biggest card possible for each camera.

Excellent reasoning and advice in this thread! Wish I had seen it before ordering my 128gb cards!

I've been around video & digital photography for quite some years now....mainly for personal use, and figured a 32 or 64 would have been sufficient. Oh well, back 15 to 20 years ago pricing "was" a determining factor but nowadays, removable memory prices are pretty much moot in the grand scheme of things!
