LG V30 Connection Issue

Hello, I just got me EVO and what I've been able to do so far is pretty awesome. I'm sure I'll like it even more when I can get my phone to connect. I have an LG V30 and it will not connect. I tried a friends phone that's not an LG and connected just fine right away. Are there any issues connecting to a V30? Thanks for your help!

I have an LG G6 and curiously it does not connect to the Mini-Usb socket on the radio but to the Usb-A (large Usb) yes.
While my Samsung tablet connects to the mini-usb, it does.
Try it on the big Usb plug.
