How to upload videos to iPhone

I can't figure out how to save my footage onto my iPhone. I would like to post the videos on Instagram. And I'm not referring to doing through the app way. This process is way too slow as the files are to big. How do you transfer from mac?

Any ideas?

Do you have a apple SD adapter? If so .jpeg pictures are not a problem, the videos should be .mov format. Plug in Mini SD cart and plug adapter into phone and new option in photos. You can select photos or videos or select all.

No I do not have this adapter. I did not know it existed. I have to pick one up.
