Hello all, from the SF Bay Area

Congrats on the new baby! I've had mine for about a month now and have fun learning to fly it and understanding the camera/video setup (I'm a newbie) for what kind of weather I'm flying in sunny/cloudy.

Welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy your membership. There are many other members happy to provide assistance for any issues you may have, and those that may need information you bring. A lot of good information is already stored in existing threads.

Couple easy things:
1.) The search Icon is your friend. It's the magnifying glass near the upper right of the screen when you scroll all the way up. It can find many answers you will never find by yourself.
2.) Be aware that you won't always get a quick response. There are times when many other members are on line, and sometimes only a few. A response may not show up until the right person sees it.
3.) Be aware the forum is Global. If you are exchanging with a member on the other side of the world, response can get delayed and out of sequence due to a difference in local time.
4.) Although the Forum is global, the language is English. It is customary to translate other languages to English. Many members also include the original language post to help alleviate translation errors.
5.) Review the forum rules (on the bottom right). There are not too many, but it is important they are followed to keep the Forum a useful and happy place for everyone.

Also please ***READ BEFORE POSTING FOR HELP***

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. But, don't worry, I may be a newbie drone pilot, but I am not a newbie forum user. I am quite familiar to search engines. As a matter of fact, I prefer to use them as it allows me to get answers much quicker.

Thanks to all of you for the welcoming words.

Don't worry, I've done my home work. I'm well aware of the NFZ in and around the Golden Gate Recreational Area. It is OK to fly from Treasure Island and fly toward the GGB and get shots of it from the distance.

Oh! That's right, TI is no longer a training area for the Navy. Is it a park now & can you legally fly from there? That would be absolutely beautiful ! ! (I took ABC Warfare & Firefighting training there in 1961)

oh yeah, totally legal. There are areas right near the shore where you can launch right out over the water without flying over anybody. Beautiful views of the city, Alcatraz, GGB, Bay Bridge, ships rolling into the bay. One of my favorite places to fly. Gonna go out there as soon as this sheltering order is lifted. I'll post some cool video when I do
