Federal Appeals Court Voids FAA Registration Rule For Model Aircraft

that is great news but unfortunately doesn't apply to some of us - (commercial pilots)

"Stunning" is right!!

Although, I have a feeling the FAA may secretly have not fought too hard against this after figuring out how much time and money it was going to take to register all 20 gajillion model aircraft.

I wonder if they're going to have to give us our money back?

This will actually hurt the commercial people. The FAA is broke and Trump has cut their budget. No money means not hiring more inspectors. No inspectors means longer waits for the waivers.

Actually, Trump has increased their budget. At least he's increased the budget for infrastructure, and that includes the FAA.

That might be true.
From the articles I read the FAA needs a major amount of money to keep up with the expected UAV's in the coming years.
This will not help their bottom line I would think.

This is a long time coming. They had no business getting involved in the hobbyist model aircraft space.

The law needs to change before they can 'sculpt' their vision, which I fully expect will happen.
