Couldn't find a sun shade to fit my Tab A 8", so decided to make one.
Started with a sheet of corrugated black plastic bought at Michael's for around $5. Designed a pattern using regular paper, then transferred it to the plastic and cut it out. For the hinges, I only cut halfway through. Then drilled two holes and cut two slots for the rubber bands.

Close up of how the rubber band is attached.

The rubber bands go around the ends of the tablet, holding it snug in place.

Side view of the rubber bands attached, leaving all of the buttons clear.

Hopefully, this will help in the sun. Removed from the tablet, it lies flat. And it's very lightweight.
