After watching Agustine's video I feel almost guilty posting this one. Naw not really I was filming in shirt sleeves and under my black sun shade it was a little warm.:)

rkyleh,
Nice video! I will be heading out to Vegas in a few months (end of April)... can you give a general location as to where you flew this please. Do you think it might be too hot at the end of April. Also regarding the Ring of Fire... Do you know if we are allowed to legally fly that?

This is on the road to the west entrance. Just before you get to the sign that says entering the valley of fire there is a dirt road that turns north. You can't fly from in the state park. April will not be to hot, now June might boil your brains. Good luck there is a lot of interesting scenery around southern NV.

Thanks rkyleh
Just printed out the location you gave. What kind of condition is the dirt road? My car is not exactly designed for rough roads.

Very nice video. Excellent music selection!!!!

When I see terrain like this I always think of early man explorers having to cross that on foot........

We 'camped' in the Valley of Fire last August. What a HUGE mistake THAT was. Hotter than hell, even at night. During the day it was 115° and higher. At night it dipped to a frigid 90-95° or so. The a/c in our trailer could not keep it under 90° during the day. We lost all the veggies in the fridge, which could not stay below 50°!

Now why, you might ask, would we foolishly do this? Our son and his wife were coming back from somewhere in Colorado on their way to a wedding in Santa Barbara, then home to Marin County, CA. This would be the only time we could meet up somewhere, and we left the 'somewhere' up to them. And, THEY were tent camping!

Anyway, the park was darned near empty at this time of the year so we had our choice of campsites. Winter is a different story. Good luck finding ANY campsites - ha. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful place to visit.
