Charging batteries from car?

Hey all,

I have a small 800watt inverter that I briefly tried to charge my autel battery with.

The battery indicated it was charging, but the charging "block" itself started making a small buzz sound.
At that point I stopped until I knew what was going on.

Any ideas or help?

Is your inverter a pure sine wave inverter? Some electronic devices (such as battery chargers) don't work well with standard inverters.

If the inverter doesn't say "pure sine" on it, it probably isn't. You can get a 300W pure sine inverter on Amazon for around $40, which has more than enough power to run a charger.
