Can't connect to Smart Controller

Oh just great. Does that mean I purchased the wrong controller and if so, would it be wise to return the V2 controller and purchase a V1 controller knowing how these smart controllers are hard to come by. Please advise thank you.
Oh and also, is there not some sort of work around for this if not now but in the near future?. Thank you..

Darn it.!!! So now what.? Do I return the controller or up my arsenal by purchasing am Evo V2, V1..??? So sad over all of this..

If you have a version 1 based upon the standard controller having the orange parts, and they sold you a version 2 smart controller stating it was for a version 1. Then it is their mistake. Send it back for the correct version or a refund. V1 smart controllers do come up for sale from time to time. Until then, you could use the standard remote.
