Querying thoughts on flying in this heavy smog.

As a former firefighter, we always cleaned everything used on a fire. One of the reasons was because of the particulates in the air at the fire.

I’ve been reluctant to fly my drone in the Canadian Fire Smog because I think the particulates will get into the motors and cause mechanical problems.

What are your thoughts, if any?

I would fly . make sure to clean afterwards.
Damp cloth for props and shell. Maybe compressed air if really concerned.
I think it would be more of an issue with an ic engine or if there was grease to trap the particles and make a paste.
I am not an engineer just an rc pilot with an interest.

Tiger64,

I’ve been going back and forth, because I know the motors are sealed but I also know you pick up whatever is in the air, as you fly.

My biggest concerns are safety for the things I would fly over and my investment.
