I am the proud owner of a new Evo Lite + drone.. !! However I would like to explore options for a bigger screen than my phone.. Can I plug in a tablet that uses the USBc connection or is there a blue tooth dongle that fits the out put of the controller so a tablet can monitor the flight??

Any ideas would be welcome, I am new to drones..

Many Thanks, Mark

What firmware version is installed? Asking because Autel just released 2.0.19 and some pilots here are preferring not to upgrade to that level. Instead, preferring to stay at 1.9.9

I dont know which firmware is installed.. just got it and it has been raining so much I have not flown it yet.. but really glad to find a group like this to participate with.. Thank you very much !!

Have you already installed the Autel Sky app from the Apple store on your iPhone? If you have an Android device you could load an older version of the Sky app and check all the aircraft firmware modules that way.

Hello Bob, Very grateful for your help !! I do not yet have an ipad or tablet and have been looking into which one to get.. would like to get one asap. I live in a very rural area with no airports within 25 miles, want to use the drone to check for predators when our cows are calving,.. just want it to work.
will try to call this evening,. again, I am very grateful for your willingness to help me get started with this thing..

FYI...I picked up my iPad Mini 4 from Walmart for $100. It's a refurb and in perfect condition. Some people will say that an older tablet may not hold a charge well anymore, but mine has been excellent. Really depends on prior usage I suppose. I have an iPad Gen 5 I use everyday which is 7 years old and still holds up very well. Here's my setup...

I decided to go with the tablet below. Very versatile, high nit rate, and works with my vintage Phantom 4 Pro v2. It also runs the current Android, so that's a plus.

Regards,

Gerry
Thanks Gary, I purchased an ipad mini 6,.. hope i don't regret it,.. needs to be bright ! Mark

Bob, that looks really Great !! Hope to replicate it. Mark

Spent 2 dollars for the 3d print file and another 11 dollars for a place to print out the design. Very cheap and works great, even have a shade for the IPAD Mini 4.20250114_213831.jpgcontroller1.jpg

Hello Bob, I bought an ipad and the sky fire mount and have been taking my drone out,.. but everytime I do, a notice to "upgrade the firmware" imposes it's self in the middle of my screen and I can't get around it.. any ideas??

Many thanks, Mark

That's happening because you have the new Sky app installed on the iPad, either 1.7.30 or maybe 1.7.36 which is what's now on the Apple App Store. The only way to suppress that pop-up is to uninstall the new Sky app and install the older version 1.6.8.

Here's a link to the procedure. You'll need a Windows PC running Windows 10 or 11 and iTunes

How to downgrade Autel Sky IOS app - manual

Disconnecting your Wifi is a good idea to suppress the warning temporarily, but could become more of a hassle as you have to remember that and keep doing an on-off approach to flying. Best overall to downgrade to 1.6.8, and also make sure to set the Settings on the tablet to 'Not automatically upgrade installed apps'.
