While looking at the "Members Online Now" list, I see this:

I got members and guests, but what are "robots"?

bot's scraping the pages for keywords etc. google has algorithms that are used for pulling info from the pages for ranking, etc. That is just one type of 'bot'

Correct. There are many types of bots crawling the web 24/7. They gather info for lots of reasons like Google web searches.
