Whakaari Island EVO Demo

In January this year, some guys helicoptered on to this island and flew an EVO over and close to volcanic steam and toxic gases.

This superb video (8.43 mins) is on You Tube.

Alas! This is the same island in New Zealand that erupted last week killing and injuring lots of tourists.

I remember seeing this when it first came out. Having lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for a decade, I squirmed as I watched this....volcanoes can be very unpredictable. In Hawaii, they rarely, if ever, just explode, but the NZ ones do....

I climbed Diamond Head in Oahu six times and a steamy one on Bali in a pre drone era. As you climb, you are amongst a congo line of fellow tourists on the goat track.
Each time you look down into these craters it's a "what if" thought.

Using DH as an example, mere "expert" mortals, whose earth lifespan of knowledge average 60 years, have us believe that DH has been asleep for 150,000 years or is now extinct.
When it comes to nature, there are times when ones belief becomes a folly.
Now i realise that the drone was invented for us to see, without being there
