I have not flown my Nano for awhile. My firmware version V1.8.5 is red. I am not getting the upgrade prompt. It seems to fly around my yard fine. Is there something I should do? Thanks

Lots of pilots reporting issues after the December-2024 firmware upgrade for the Nano (1.9.10) and Lite (2.0.19) aircraft. I have a Lite + and I'm personally staying at FW 1.9.9. I also use an iPad Mini4 and intentionally keeping the Sky app at 1.6.8 (instead of the newer 1.7.35). That way I'm not hassled with upgrade prompts. Drone works perfectly for me. Also, the newer firmware CAN'T be uninstalled, you're permanently stuck with it! My advice is stay at 1.8.5 if you're not having any issues. You're still fully FAA compliant. For our EU friends that might not be the case, but I'm not completely up on their flight requirements.

Interesting, thanks for the reply, I also noticed that the sky app is no longer in the playstore. I have a Evo Lite plus on the way. I would assume it will come with the latest firware. Can I expect problems?

The Android Sky app was removed from the Google Play store sometime last Fall, maybe around the time Autel was doing new firmwares. The Apple store has the Sky app version 1.7.35, but there's a way to still get 1.6.8, but sounds like you're more Android than Apple anyway. Problems, lots from what I've seen in the last 6 months, mostly connectivity issues like the aircraft constantly loses connection. The new FW also has geofencing which we never had prior, and also like I said earlier, you're locked in if you have 2.0.19, no reverting to other older versions. Where did you buy? If it was on the inventory shelf for several months you might get lucky and it'll have 1.9.9.

If not necassery, i would not update the firmware.
After updating i have now a core failure and drone is damaged.

i was so stupid to update my drone a nano plus when the software update came out. that was in my first week of a 14 week holiday in spain. i had taken my drone with me to use it then but i was without a drone for 13 weeks. when i got home i could only send it to a repair center of autel in Germany. It has been there for 5 weeks now. I did not even get a confirmation of receipt from the center. After many emails with autel I finally got to hear this week that it is there and that the repair is under warranty. but I do not know when I will finally get it back. this is not something that makes me happy. I think I'll switch to DJI. Autel is doing a good job of chasing away customers

I finally got my lite +.My order got damaged by UPS and Autel shipped me a new order. Autel support got right on it, I also had a problem setting up Autel care and they took care of that also. It has firmware V1.3.27. I have not had the opportunity to test fly it yet. I am leery of updating the firmware.

Here's a post of supposedly all the Lite + versions. The oldest showing is 1.4.64. Not sure how to advise you. If you look around on the Lite + forum you'll find some downloads for 1.9.9 which is what I use, but I'm in US where that firmware is still FAA compliant.

V1.4.64
V1.5.33
V1.5.34
V1.8.2
V1.8.3
V1.9.9
V2.0.15

Well ,I am in the US (MI) .,I bought it from Autel robotics. I also have Autel care. I think I am going to try the upgrade later today.

Your Android Sky app is 1.4.68 so the correct match aircraft firmware for that would be 1.9.9, which is what I use. I strongly recommend you find the links on the Lite + forum to download the 1.9.9 zip file and copy that to SD card rather than attempt the OTA which will install 2.0.19. That version is NOT downgradeable.

Afterwards, and all is working OK, you won't be prompted for upgrading as long as you use the 1.4.68 Sky app. If your Android is connected to your home wifi, then some of the firmware modules will be highlighted as red meaning out of date, but that won't affect the drone performance, it's just informational

Ok I will try that.
