All Lipo batteries will swell to a point over time. If you can feel like a bubble inside one of those circles it might be to the point it needs replacing. If you have a hard time sliding it in the battery compartment it needs replacing.
So if you keep the smart board, you can use another battery type?The more adventurous me would have taken the shell off, desoldered the smart board and disposed of the Lipo battery part. To get any aftermarket lipo battery you will need the smart board and outside case to make it work in the X-Star.

I do not recommend anyone try this if you have no idea of what you are doing. Lipos can be very dangerous![]()
