Was just checking out different antenna on Amazon and other sources.
What are your thoughts of different types?

Pic for attention.

You don't want to go too high in dBi on the controller antennas because you are going to sacrifice in close vertical reception.

Must be SMA Male only... (Pin in center)
Most on Amazon are RP-SMA or Reverse Polarity, which is opposite with a socket in the center.

This is what I just replaced mine with, and it increased the signal by about -20db, which is significant.

2.4ghz was -110db stock and -90db after upgrade
5.8gb was -110db stock and -100db after upgrade

Both measured using the meter on the SC

Also, my Smart Controller does not accept metal SMA connectors as it bottoms out on the outer nut of the SMA connector before it tightens up... could be just mine but be aware it could be yours too....

Also, the tightening nut needs to be sanded down to fit inside the SC body.

Pics Attached

This is the antenna I replaced my stock set with:
It is the correct polarity.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to get some of those to improve the range.
Is your controller the Version 1 or Version 2?

V2 Enterprise with V2 Enterprise Smart Controller. I'm specifying this because the Enterprise Smart Controller runs a different version of the Explorer App but uses the same Firmware as the standard V2 airframe

Thanks for sharing halzucati, just ordered a set.

Although I have the SC V1, these should still work in manual 2.4ghz band with the SC V1. They look to be little more than 1/4 inch longer, maybe less. Can you confirm this if you get the chance, appreciate this.

Thanks again for attaching the link!

I didn't want to remove the antennas from the controller as I'm paranoid about wear and slippage... probably overy so... but this is a close comparison. The antenna inserts into the controller about 1/4 inch or so... so add that to the on-controller measurements shown.

Thank you halzucati

Appreciate this, that’s great so they are a little longer over stock antennas.

Looking forward to trying them out, should be here this Friday. Hopefully, get a chance to compare these with stock antennas this weekend.

Thanks very much!

Curious to know how your signal strength changes.
Also curious how it affects your range.

My change was noticable to the positive, and it added another 2000' to my range in a high interferance area, so worth the low cost. They just barely fit in the case and I'm sure will work into the foam fine.

I’ll also order one and will try it. Let’s see how it goes. Last Sunday, I flew by the beach and didn’t have any obstruction or anything and the signal of my SC (enterprise ) was awesome. I reached 11 k feet away and the signal was still good, but I RTK because I was afraid if the battery wouldn’t have made. Anyway, by my house the signal is not great, so I’ll test it.

@halzucati awesome research, and thanks for the pictures! I'll be checking something out soon after I get a bit more time on the sticks with the E2P-E.

I’ll give her a try, I’m curious as well and will share signal strength differences between stock and these upgraded antennas.

Because my SC V1 doesn't support 5ghz band, I’ll use manual 2.4ghz. I feel they’ll do well, appreciate you taking the time to share and post the addition pictures.

Thanks halzucati!
