I found the aboveteck tablet holder and with a little customization set it up for my controller. This thing ships with two heads where you can use anything from an Ipad mini to a regular Ipad. I have my sights on the Ipad Air so this will work great. The head rotates 360 degrees in all directions so you can swing it out of the way if you want. I bent the support out just a little so the tablet clears the control so I can see both at the same time. It is very well made good and solid. It is a little on the husky side but because I use the head shade which supports the screen it feels good. Now if Autel will redesign those flimsy antennas I will be a happy camper.

Why put the grabbing hooks horizontally as opposed to vertical like in the photo. That way you can skip the hole drilling.

They will not close in enough to grab my Tab A. That would work on the larger tablets.

My try at mounting my Galaxy Tab A 8.0 to my Evo controller.

Took a block of wood and cut it to size. It's hard to tell from the photos, but I angled the top and bottom to match the angle of the rubber grippers on the controller. Next step was to paint it black and cover the face with Velcro.

Bought a silicon shell for the tablet, and stuck Velcro on the back, matching the size of the wooden block.

Put it all together, and it works. It feels a little too heavy for the controller's holder, so I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that. But it holds the tablet securely.

You can try adding a landyard and attach it to the phone holder. This way the weight of the tablet is being held by your neck, instead of the flimsy nut that holds the phone holder to the control.

My concern about the weight on the controller’s holder is much as SnagsWolf’s. A lanyard would help but if the holder arm did snap under the weight of a tablet it might damage the antennae also. I’m fast coming round to the idea that the Thor, or something constructed along similar lines, might be the way to go.

My complaint to that is, it turns the Evo's small form factor into a monstrous controller. If I had any machining skills, I would design my own holder, using the controller's design, but shifting the center of gravity back, therefore making the controller balanced.
