Speeded up clouds

The first time I felt an urge to make Hyper Lapse and it's not working if the drone is on the ground (I was on my window) so I filmed 20+ minutes 4K video and speeded it up 8 times (Davinci offering up to 8 times ) - Hope You like it as I do

You can speed up more than 800% available in menu, if you play with keyframes in retime curve or retime controls:

Every editor should have a place to increase or decrease speed. Here's one I did a couple years ago in Idaho. I think it was about 3 hours of video that I scrunched down to 5 minutes In Filmora. The clouds/fog are over the Salmon River in White Bird Idaho.. That's a big house down to the left beside the clouds/fog.

Yes you can. Here is a video by Peter Mckinnon explaining slow motion video but its the same for speeding it up in Premiere. For best results the more frames your video has when taken improves how smooth the end result will be.

Every editor should have a place to increase or decrease speed. Here's one I did a couple years ago in Idaho. I think it was about 3 hours of video that I scrunched down to 5 minutes In Filmora. The clouds/fog are over the Salmon River in White Bird Idaho.. That's a big house down to the left beside the clouds/fog.

One thing I am confused about : what is the benefit of the Hyper Lapse if everything can be done better and longer in Post . What am I missing. ?

I always wondered that too. I guess because it does the work for you?

It saves you all the work and spares all the storage for the long initial clip - but I prefer filming instead

Except space saving, hyperlapse (and timelapse) has one huge advantage: since it is composed of photos, you have freedom to choose exposure time longer than possible in movie clip. In daylight conditions it ususaly doesn't matter a lot (can be used to achieve motion blur but it can be done in post production, too) but in the evening it gets really important. For instance moving car lights turn into nice trails and look better than series of scattered light points. Not mentioning lower ISO.

To be honest I didn't look. All I did was speed it up till the total length was 5 minutes.

I use Vegas Pro 14 and to get the speed up effect just select the far end of the video clip and simultaneously press the shift key and then move the end point to the left and compress to your hearts content.
