Smooth zoom with the Evo

So the Mavic 2 Zoom has optical zoom, which I think is great in a drone. You don't want to fly too close to objects and especially humans, just to get a more "zoomed in" shot. The Parrot Anafi also has some pretty good lossless digital zoom (2.8X if I am not mistaken, in 1080p) and smooth zooming. The Evo also has a zoom function, but it "jumps" when zooming in or out. Has anyone figured out how to zoom smoothly with the Evo, or is it not possible at this point and we need to wait for a SW/FW update?

There is no smooth zooming with the EVO. Just guessing here, but I seriously doubt it'll be introduced as a software or firmware update.

The only way for it to come in a software update is if there is a large number of people requesting it.

This is great if you're doing post production. But for those of us who just want to shoot, download, and share not very practical. Thanks for posting nevertheless.

The Evo has virtual zoom, so it’s not really zooming in, it’s just expanding the existing image. Since it’s software manipulation I don’t see why they couldn’t make it a smooth transition function in one of the firmware updates.
