Ok haven’t been able to fly my Evo for awhile because of the weather. I fired it up today in the house to check for any updates. Of course I had to put it in the air for a little bit. I was shocked when I couldn’t back it up. I checked and it wasn’t in novice mode. When did the rear sensors keep it from hitting things in normal mode? Did I miss something? Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy about it, but thought it only kept it from hitting things in novice mode.

If the Evo was in Starpoint mode because you were flying indoors ( vs. GPS mode outdoors) then the rear sensors activate to prevent bumping into objects. I believe that this fact is not very clearly stated in Evo manual but nevertheless it is the case: rear sensors will both sense and stop if you are flying indoors. Others have experienced this same result (when flying indoors) and posted about it here.

Ok! Thank you for the reply! I should of done a search for this first before posting.

If you go a little deeper into reading the instructions and the information that may appear, you will see that the rear infrared sensors only detect the presence of objects on the back of the Evo and in no case, unlike the sensors before, stops or stops or deflects the Evo. It sends a simple obstacle presence message when backing up.

Yes I am aware of that. Never flew it inside before. It would not let me go backwards. Also if in novice mode, the rear sensors will stop you.

Here is an answer from Autel regarding the rear sensors:
RESPONSE:
To answer your questions, At this time we don't have any of those features planned, nor do we have additional features planned at this time. I have not heard anything in regards to upgraded waypoints, and no, the rear sensor cannot stop the drone outside of standard mode, as it's an IR sensor. The rear sensor is too short range to stop the drone at any speed above the novice mode.

You need to read my first post a little closer. I know how the rear sensors work. I am saying when I had it indoors it was working as if it was in novice mode. I double checked and it was not in novice mode, however it was stopping me from backing towards objects. Someone already answered that it was in star point mode since indoors.

I can confirm @SmokeyBear262's claim. It has happened to me while flying in Starpoint in my living room. My drone was drifting towards me and wouldn't go backwards, because the sensor detected the wall. Had to turn it sideways and push it away from me.
