Ever since I purchased my EVO Lite + in February 2024, I consistently receive the message, “RC Disconnected”. Since the time of purchase, I’ve only had 3 successful flights. Autel Support will no longer return my phone calls, and email support either gets upset when I request status on the open case, or they request additional information in different forms than previously provided.

I’ve asked to return the drone for a refund, which was answered with a request for more of the same troubleshooting information, but in a different format.

Since, Autel Support cannot resolve this issue and I’m apparently stuck with an EVO Lite + that never worked… has anyone ever successfully resolved “RC Disconnected” issue without the support of Autel?

Thanks,
Rich

I had connectivity issues with my EVO II Pro V1 and found by switching out the cable connecting the remote control to my device (TriplTek), my issue was solved.

Thanks for the response!!
So basically, you are suggesting the cable Autel shipped when I purchased this drone is defective? And I should purchase a new interface cable?

I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro withe the latest iOS release, which successfully connects to many other external peripherals through the appropriate Lightning cable - including my vehicle and Apple CarPlay. This rules out my iPhone.

Thanks again,
Rich

Sadly, I get that from time to time on my Lite+. After 9 months with a brand new Lite+, I can say I LOVE the camera on it (especially for night shots), but as a flyer...not so much. Seems it's less a hardware thing and more because of the fairly awful Autel Sky software we have to use to fly the thing. It's a shame, because the software makes a very respectable drone....not so respectable. Disconnecting when it's literally 200 feet away is unacceptable.

Like many, I ventured to Autel after years of success with DJI just to see how the other half lived.

I have a thread about htis with my evo lite and nano. I fixed it by DELETING the sky app and reinstalling it. then I refuse updates. The updates are defective( they admitted it) . I am good without the updates.I only get camera mode and that is fine with me for now too.
maybe one day they will test their firmware BEFORE releasing it

Not trying to sway the original topic....any Lite+ owners also have the "returning to home" happen a TON - when it starts mystically thinking I triggered the return to home - I cancel it. Once it starts that, every 5 seconds it'll do auto return to home. Sometimes I will fly two batteries and never experience it...but when it happens, that's it. Coming back and landing and leaving is the only solution. Switching batteries, exiting out of the Sky app and rebooting the iPad (or iPhone) sometimes helps, sometimes not.

Besides the frequent disconnects at short range, anyone experience overwhelming return to home actions being phantomly triggered (also, within 200 feet away, or 1000 feet - doesn't matter)? I'm 90% sure I did a firmware update about one month after I purchased.... Wish I woulda heard not to do that. Maybe I can rollback somehow....or completely delete the app as boatdoc suggested.

(sorry for so much negativity - it's just a letdown to own such a fantastic flying camera that doesn't fly very well at all)
