Purchased a new controller and wont bind

I lost my remote and purchased a new one from ebay. I am trying to pair it using the instructions but it wont connect. Can someone help me?

Hi tampaDrones,
Was it a controler for the Evo2, if it was I don't think that they are interchangeable. Search for a thread, there is bound to be one. I hope this helps. Johnno Hennessy (Australia) . Keep flying on the green side of the grass.

No, this is for a Evo 1 and the matching Evo 1 remote.
