What software do you currently use to edit photographs? If Photoshop, making the jump to Premiere might not be too intimidating since you're already in the Adobe family, I wouldn't necessarily call it easy though.
There is an Elements version (~$99) that offers 'easy' storyboard based editing as well as a more advanced editing timeline when you're ready to move on.
Yeah photo shop elements 12 is what I use for photos.
Sony Vegas pro13 for video . There is a lot of stuff in there that I don't know about but I'm learning. Lots of helpful videos on YouTube for teaching .
