New guy With an old drone

Hey everyone. this is my first time ever doing a forum. I’ve actually been riding along longer than I’ve owned a drone. I’ve learned some things for you guys. So I have an issue obviously. I just got the XR premium. I bought it used so he says it worked great before, but I can’t even get it to pair the drone in the app and the controller. The controller just says video link lost, but it’ll let me fly the drone but not really well. Can anyone tell me what I should do? This is my first drone I bought it to be a practice drone I can’t even get any practice and help
