Its not much more "Mini" than EVO dimensions. If you are measuring with motor arms extended on both specs and not including the extension of the prop tips the configuration is identical to the EVO size with the exception that the thickness of the aircraft body is just a bit thinner than EVO (not counting landing gear).
Since the Mavic is also about the same size as EVO I fail to see their "mini" marketing strategy.....UNLESS their measurement specs include the radius reach of the props. Then it would definitely be a Mini compared to the current series of drones being sold. The 5.8ghz might give it some good range providing it has enough transmitter power at both ends.
But the bottom line - Is smaller better? When will shrinking size become a deterrent to buyers and not an asset? A Pocket Drone with 4K and 1"? Just like the challenges for electric cars, the power source vs weight vs flight time is a juggling act for drone makers. Technology needs a major battery break-thru, like the Li-Ion discovery X10. That will bust open Drone....EVERYTHING!
