Mailing RC—discharged or not

Have to send the bird and RC for repair next week. Autel said not to include battery but I forgot to ask: should I run down the RC or not (to avoid it accidentally starting up and maybe overheating)?

He was asking about the RC. You can't remove that battery.
I doubt there would be a problem with the RC battery being charged or not either way.

I have a VERY BIG bolt cutter - I can remove ANY controller battery.
