Lost Night Mode

Thank you Baron! I talked to Autel and they said that the Fusion capability was new and was available on "some" of the aircraft they are shipping. You can see the icon in my screenshot. I am waiting to hear back from them with more info regarding my issue.

You said that you reset the R/C, but I'm not sure what you mean by that. I'm not finding a way to do that.

On your R/C, Go to Settings, then Systems, then Reset options, then Erase all date (factory reset).
That is what I did for the function to be active again. Beware that you should save your settings if you have some you like. Like expo settings ect.

Oh. THAT reset. I was looking in the app. Duh! I'm saving a few things and will give that a shot.

I had no access to Fusion/Night Mode yesterday or this morning - totally greyed out, but when I powered it up just now, voila, there it was. Still can't use Night Mode without hitting Fusion first, so hopefully Autel will have an answer for me soon. Not holding my breath.

Will post again after the reset and if/when Autel gets back to me.

Thanks again, Baron! I reset the controller and now have functional Night Mode. Well I need to verify tonight, but it appears to work and is not greyed out.

BTW, I lost the Fusion button, so wondering what's up with that, but I am very happy to have close to a fully functional expensive aircraft.

I'll let you know the purpose after I hear from Autel. Attaching a screenshot. Looks like a hybrid between camera and IR.459613677_8962984417064208_7869342598962500378_n.jpg

I got a chance to try out night mode. I wasn't expecting it to be like Starlight on the 4N, but I was expecting a little better. Having briefly experienced Fusion mode, I definitely appreciate that it filled in the blanks with IR. Not exactly sure how useful that is, but it was kinda nice having everything on one screen - the "Fusion" of IR and Night Mode I guess. Anyway, Night Mode as a stand alone also seems to have limited utility, so if I had my pick, I would go for Fusion. Hopefully Autel will get this straightened out soon.

Yes, the night mode didn't impress me, so maybe the fusion will help out. I am wonder how many 4T have the Fusion in their app. I have the latest updates and it is not on my R/C. I have not had my 4T for that long. Some where around the end of June. Some 30+ flights and still figuring it out. Also wish they had quieter props for it. When It brakes, it makes to much noise and I can't seem to get a nice slow down for a stop. One thing at a time.

I did find something out today while digging through the pdf manual. It shows on page 106 #23 that this function (Fusion) is only supported by the EVO Max 4N aircraft and I only have the 4T. Not unless a software update has added this function to the 4T as well. Wondering what other 4T users are seeing.

Update: To finished this out I did receive this from Autel.

"I apologize for any inconvenience caused. The features you mentioned have been removed in version 1.8".

So if you want to keep this feature, do not update or it appears the function will go away.

I have not but I shall give that a try. I am not sure what the connection would be but it's a idea. Tks

I took the two screws loose and tried to lift it out and it didn't want to release. I checked the manual also and I see what their trying to do but I decided to leave that alone for now. This could get expensive if screwed up. They say not to be switching the payloads out a lot.

So... Autel released the Fusion Mode for all 4T Models- then took it away because they just released the Evo Max 4T XE which has a "FusionLight" camera and a slightly different thermal lens size? Is there any way to get Fusion Mode back as an app selection? I assume this is why they said you can't downgrade after you update to 1.8

Can anyone here confirm that you successfully used the fusion function and that you definitely don't have the 4T XE?
It's possible b0b2 has the 4T XE version which is why he's seeing the fusion option and no one else seems to. So, my previous comment might be incorrect

The 4T XE looks like it was released maybe a couple months back and might be the standard payload on the 4T? And the only hardware differences between the 4T and 4TXE are in the lens dimensions.
The 4T and 4T XE cameras look different so it should be easy to tell which one you have. See pics here

Ok here’s my best guess of what happened. Since both b0b and Baron purchased their 4Ts recently and saw fusion in their apps (b0b could use but Baron couldn’t), newly manufactured units were probably given some unreleased software with fusion. When 1.8 rolled out to the entire fleet, that software update wasn’t ready to support that fusion function which resulted in those functions being greyed out. This is also probably what caused your nightmode to malfunction too.
Other explanation is that only 4T XE units will support fusion mode, unless b0b confirms he only has the 4T.
I don’t remember ever having the fusion function and my aircraft is from 2023. Excited to try the fusion, so hopefully they are able to add it to all 4T aircraft

My LE agency just got me a brand new Evo 4T XE, I finally found night mode, it's as shown above in the menu/images but there's no Fusion option, it's not even a greyed out option. Night mode does enhance the camera, but it doesn't seem to work as well as another brand we have. I haven't tested it in the city yet, we're still training in more unpopulated areas so there's not much ambient light. We should have gotten the 4N, the salesman we spoke to told us the 4N didn't have IR, he was obviously wrong. After this arctic front we start training in better lighted areas.
We definitely got the XE with the latest firmware.

Have you tried the modified application for 4T and 4N, maybe this function is open there? I use it and it opens up all frequencies + FCC unlock, I also have stealth mode and GNSS disable.
